Our CEO and Trustee
Introduction
FSS Trustee Corporation ABN 11 118 202 672, AFSL 293340, is the Trustee of the First State Superannuation Scheme ABN 53 226 460 365 and holds in trust all of the assets of the Fund. The Trustee Board consists of an independent chairperson, four employer representative directors, appointed by the Director General of the Premier's Department of NSW and the Secretary of the Treasury of NSW, and four member representative directors appointed by Unions NSW. The Trustee Board meets monthly or as required. The Trustee is supported by the First State Super team.

Michael Dwyer Chief Executive Officer (December 2004 – to date) Michael joined as Chief Executive Officer in December 2004. Michael has extensive experience in the superannuation industry having worked in a number of senior positions including the role of General Manager and Fund Secretary of one of Australia’s larger industry superannuation funds and has also gained experience as Company Secretary of a Corporate Trustee.
He is an active participant in the superannuation industry having served for many years as a Director of the Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia and has played significant roles in other industry bodies.
As Chief Executive Officer of the Trustee, Michael reports to the Trustee Board and exercises the day to day management of the Trustee. This includes:
Monitoring the performance of funds under management,
Monitoring custody and administration service providers, and
Managing the executive team of superannuation and communication specialists.
Michael’s focus is to ensure that the Trustee receives expert professional advice on which to make its decisions and then to ensure those decisions are implemented.

Thomas Parry Chairman Thomas Parry is the Independent Director and Chairman of the Board. He is also the Chairman of Sydney Water Corporation; a consultant to Macquarie Bank Limited; and a Director of ASX – Market Supervision.
He has held a number of important positions in regulation and public policy and has been a consultant to the Commonwealth and NSW State Governments. His former positions include: Foundation Executive Chairman of the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal of NSW; Foundation NSW Natural Resources Commissioner; Director of the NSW Clinical Excellence Commission; Associate Commissioner of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission; Director of South East Sydney Area Health Service; and a member of the NSW Council on the Cost and Quality of Government. He has been an adjunct Professor of Economics at the University of New South Wales and Dean of the Faculty of Commerce at the University of Wollongong, and has held various positions in the private sector.
