Provide us with your Tax File Number
Don't get stung by the new super rules!
Do you want to pay more tax? First State Super is sure you will answer "no" to that question.
If First State Super doesn’t have your Tax File Number (TFN), then you may pay more tax than you need to under the new super rules.
- You may pay more PAYG tax than you need to when a benefit is paid to you
- It will be more difficult for you to find your super if we lose contact with you
- You could be paying up to 46.5% of your employer contributions and any salary sacrifice contributions from 1 July 2007
- You will not be able to make any voluntary after tax contributions from 1 July 2007
- Because you will not be able to make your own contributions from 1 July 2007, you will not be able to get the Federal Government’s co-contribution to super (even if you meet all of the other eligibility criteria).
Here’s the sting — if we don’t have your Tax File Number, you will have less money in superannuation benefit.
How will I know if my TFN is recorded?
