PDF troubleshooting

What happens when I cannot open a brochure or form (PDF document) on your website?

There are a few solutions that may solve the problem

1. Download the latest version of Adobe® Reader®.

Some PDF’s may have features that do not run properly in older versions of Adobe Reader. Click here to download the latest version of Adobe Reader which is free to download.

Get Adobe Reader

2. Set Adobe Reader to work independently of your browser.

This will force Adobe Reader to open the PDF in a new window outside of your browser.

  • Open Adobe Reader
  • Find “Preferences” either under “File” or “Edit” depending on your version of Adobe Reader
  • Adobe 6.0 onwards, select “internet” tab and deselect “Display PDF in browser”
  • Adobe 5.0, select “general” then “options” and deselect “Display PDF in browser”
  • Adobe 4.0, select “general” and deselect “Web Browser Integration”

3. Save the PDF to disk.

If you are downloading a PDF from the First State Super website right click on the “save to disk” link, then select “Save Target As…” save the PDF to your computer, then open the PDF from that location.
